The TCS is no longer accepting members or renewals, and will become a "ghost" club with no real members.  The website will continue to act as a source of information about the Turkish breeds.

Turkish Vankedisi cats now at Preliminary Status!  At their recent meeting, the GCCF Council approved our application for Preliminary recognition of the Turkish Vankedisi.  This means that they can now be shown, can earn Merits in Assessment Classes, and can compete in Miscellaneous Classes.

Some excellent news!  The GCCF Executive Committee recently approved our application for Preliminary recognition of the Turkish Vankedisi, and granted the breed numbers 13w (amber eyed), 13w bl (blue eyed), and 13w od (odd eyed).  The application will now be presented at the next Council meeting in February.

The club will be having a table at the World of Cats at the National Cat Club Show.  We will have a Turkish Vankedisi and Turkish Angora on exhibition.  So please come along and say hello and meet some of the TCS committee and the cats.

The Turkish Breed Advisory Committee held a seminar at Hermitage Village Hall.  It was well attended with 33 people in total and 14 cats.  Of the cats there was 5 Turkish Vankedisi's, 7 Turkish Van's and 2 Turkish Angora's.  We all felt it was a great success.

The Turkish Cat Society is pleased to announce that it will be presenting a selection of Turkish Vankedisi cats at the forthcoming Turkish Breed Advisory Committee seminar (see below).  It is also hoped that a Turkish Angora cat will be available to allow the different breeds to be compared.

The Turkish Breed Advisory Committee will be holding a seminar at Hermitage Village Hall, Hermitage, near Newbury, Berkshire, on 24th October 2004. The cost is £6 per person which includes lunch. For more details see please the application form (PDF document - requires Adobe Reader).

The GCCF has accepted and approved the breed reference Turkish Vankedisi for white cats of Turkish Type conforming to the submitted Registration Policy.

16 July 2003
A prominent Turkish cat breeder was today suspended by the GCCF Disciplinary Committee for causing unnecessary suffering to cats.  Mrs Beryl Clarke from Pontardulais, Swansea, S Wales, prefix INCANTEVOLE, was suspended for 5 years and ordered to pay a £500 fine.
